Imaging

Structural brain abnormalities are a frequent cause of this syndrome, imaging is therefore important. For some genetic etiologies, imaging may be normal initially or may show reduced brain volume or evidence of white matter hypo-/dysmyelination. Over time cerebral atrophy may develop.
