ABSENCE WITH EYELID MYOCLONIA

Eyelid myoclonia is brief, usually rhythmic, fast (4-6Hz) myoclonic jerks of the eyelids. They are typically seen following eye closure. They can be accompanied by up-rolling of the eyes or head extension. They can be accompanied by altered awareness (absence), but they can also occur without appreciable altered awareness. When this seizure type occurs, it is usually seen frequently (multiple times per day or even per hour).
