GENETICS

PATTERN OF INHERITANCE

Most cases without structural brain abnormality are of unknown etiology, genetic causes (where found) are usually de novo.

KNOWN GENES

Genes implicated in in this syndrome include genes associated with structural and metabolic etiologies as well as copy number variants and de novo pathogenic variants in a number of genes. Chromosomal abnormalities have also been associated with this syndrome.

FAMILY HISTORY OF SEIZURES/EPILEPSY

A family history of seizures/epilepsy is not expected.
