INFANTILE EPILEPTIC SPASMS SYNDROME (IESS)

Mandatory seizures

Epileptic spasms are mandatory for this syndrome, these usually occur in a series and on awakening.

CAUTION Asymmetric or unilateral epileptic spasms or epileptic spasms with other focal features (e.g. eye version) right arrow carefully seek a structural etiology.
