Mandatory seizures

Seizures are not mandatory as some patients do not have clinical seizures. If seizures occur they may be infrequent and sleep-related. The seizure type seen depends on the underlying etiology.

May have

• Focal motor seizures (e.g. hemiclonic, negative myoclonus) with or without impaired awareness
• Focal to bilateral tonic-clonic seizures
• Focal sensory auditory seizures
• Absence seizures
• Atypical absence seizures
• Atonic seizures
