TONIC SEIZURE

Background/Interictal/Activation

Ictal

Tonic seizures show diffuse or generalized accelerating low amplitude paroxysmal fast activity, which is often bilateral and predominates in the anterior and vertex regions.

Tonic seizure, on EEG accompanied by electrodecrement and paroxysmal fast frequencies.

CAUTION Consistent focality of spikes or maximal amplitude of ictal rhythm right arrow consider a focal to bilateral tonic-clonic seizure or a focal bilateral motor seizure.
