SCHIZENCEPHALY
- Porencephaly - distinguished by the absence of
grey matter lining the schizencephalic cleft.
- Subcortical nodular heterotopia - is associated with a bulge, rather
than a 'dimple' in the ventricle wall
- Focal
cortical dysplasia - while in FCD type IIb, white matter
signal abnormality may be seen to taper to the ventricle,
abnormal grey matter does not extend through the white matter to
the ventricle.
